Capitol Hill, Rockin' Seattle Lofts

Union Lofts - Industrial Elegance on Capitol Hill

Capitol Hill is a diverse community and full of interesting people. Not only is it culturally diverse, but diverse in age, income and style. It is known for and proudly promotes its open and progressive attitude. Perched directly above downtown Seattle, Capitol Hill thrives as one of the most conveniently located neighborhoods in the city. An underground light rail is being built through the commercial core of Capitol Hill, which will allow for residents to commute downtown in under 1.5 minutes.

The Monique Lofts are located in Capitol Hill's hip Pike/Pine corridor. The corridor is lined with funky shops, bars, discos, coffee houses and restaurants.

Capitol Hill is a fantastic condo and loft market to buy into. While some condos on Capitol Hill are priced over a million, there are still some great values starting in the low 200's. In addition to the great condo market on Capitol Hill, North Capitol Hill is where you shop for duplexes, townhomes and historic Seattle homes for sale. Volunteer Park, also in North Capitol Hill, is a favorite neighborhood sunning spot and has some of the best views downtown in the city.

Volunteer Park is also home to the Seattle Asian Art Museum.

"The Hill" is also known as the artistic hot bed of Seattle. Famous for its music scene and nightlife, catch the top up and coming rock and roll acts in the country at Neumos (pronounced "New-Mo's" and formerly the club "Mo's", where Nirvana frequently performed). In the morning, a future rock star may even serve up your latte.

A statue of Seattle music legend Jimi Hendrix adorns the corner of Pine and Broadway in Capitol Hill, across the street from the Broadway Performance Hall.

If you're thinking about school, how about Cornish College of the Arts (1 of the 3 private performing arts colleges in the US), Seattle University or the quickly expanding Seattle Community College (voted "College of the Year" by Time Magazine).

The Cornish College Dance Department is one of the best in the country. Martha Graham was a Cornish dance professor in 1930.
